I saw a clip tonight
Of Robin Williams
And it made me sad
Although I chuckled a bit in the middle
And I guess one day
I’ll run across something with him in it
And I won’t be so sad
But probably not
He spent his entire life making people laugh
While he was so sad around the edges
And the edges crept in
Until they won
And now they’ve transferred his sadness
into ours
And in the case of Robin Williams
these two things
– laughter –
– sadness –
May never be separate
again.

It’s so tragic that while he was making so many people smile he was bleeding on the inside. We all could try to better understand mental health and try recognizing when people are truly battling
